The Portland Rose Festival on the Willamette River, with U.S. Navy destroyers dressed with signal flags for the annual celebration. The ships are four-stack flush-deck destroyers of the First World War building programme; naval visits during Rose Festival week were a recurring Photo-Art Studio subject.
